The K3004 (D8304) is weather-resistant and made of durable plastic. The

reader has an extended range of up to 10 in. (25.4 cm)

Connection Considerations

Use a six-wire cable for applications with a door contact and a

request-to-exit device.

Use an eight-wire cable for applications that have a sounder

The reader’s lead length is approximately 36 in. (91.5 cm)

K3004 - If you use 18 AWG (1.2 mm) wire, you can place the reader up

to 3000 ft (914 m) away from the door controller.

D8304 - If you use 18 AWG (1.2 mm) wire, you can place the reader

up to 500 ft (152 m) away from the door controller or control panel
